(20 miles west of Kingston on Hwy. 401).
Sale Directions: Hwy. 401 to Hwy. 41 at Napanee, south on Hwy.
41 (Centre St.) through six sets of traffic lights. The hall is approx. 100 yds.
from the sixth set of lights on the left or east side of the street.
We have been asked by a prominent collector of
Canadian antiques to sell his collection put together over the last 30 plus
years, in a series of auction sales.
The first of these will feature several pieces of
furniture from Ontario and the eastern provinces to include two pieces from
Newfoundland, two from New Brunswick and several from Ontario. All will be in as
found original condition and all will be fresh to the market. It’s been a
pleasure to be able to draw from a collection of this magnitude, a balanced
auction that will interest most collectors of Canadian antiques.
Featured items in this sale will include a secretary
attributed to Tomas Moore a noted New Brunswick cabinet maker and from his
compatriot Lawrence a regency sofa with a carved back, a sofa table attributed
to Nisbett, a weight clock from Leeds County CW, wall clock, an Eli Terry
pillared clock, a three drawer tiger maple and mahogany sewing table from
eastern Ontario, a refinished tilt top candle table C.1830, a two drawer
octagonal leg stand from Kingston, an outstanding high post canopy bed in
birdseye maple, two cabinets with applied decoration, pierced gallery and rose
head nails from Newfoundland in original varnish finish, a regency fold over
games table, a two drawer birdseye maple stand, an outstanding stenciled arrow
back rocker from the McCabe family, Hay Bay, Lennox and Addington county C.1860,
flame cherry Georgian paw foot dresser in old varnish, a one drawer work table
in original finish from Lanark County (Scotch Line), a large tiger maple
document box, regency armchair and side chairs, a mahogany drop leaf table, a
Quebec domed top box in old red finish, several outstanding grained blanket
chests from western and eastern Ont., tiger maple spool back kitchen couch from
the Brockville Ont. area, a
butternut and figured maple tall case grandfather clock found in Toronto, C1820,
two wall boxes in paint and a large selection of quality smalls to include
wooden ware such as butter prints, tiger maple rolling pin, tiger maple ladle,
early wooden apple peeler (ex Catharine Thuro collection), a rare Queen Anne
style wool winder, etc., clock shelves, Federal period looking glass, selection
of early lighting to include a wooden candle lantern from Brockville Ont., a tin
candle sconce from eastern Ont., tin candle lantern, hog scraper candle stick,
coal lamps in clear and colour to include an opalescent swirl hall lamp and an
opalescent cranberry swirl hall lamp, a rare milk glass based Bullseye lamp,
composition lamps etc., china and pottery including gaudy welsh, majolica,
Sunderland lustre, Mocha ware, Doulton Lambeth, a set of Limoges plates with a
fowl decoration, flow blue plates, mid 19th century tea service, blue
transfer ware, several Staffordshire figurines and fairings, mid 20th
century art pottery, glass and art glass to include two iridescent lamp shades
in the Tiffany style, cranberry glass pickle cruet in frame, cranberry glass
pitchers, goblets and wines including some in colour, children’s toys such as
Rolly-Polly toy, miniature set of cast iron scales, miniature covered pressed
glass comport, miniature pottery tea set, dolls irons and trivets, cast iron
deer, cast iron jockey and cart, cast iron dog bank, etc., Christmas decorations
including a rare man in the moon 4 inch ball in mercury glass, early kitchen

Rockingham glazed pitchers, red ware window rests, several beaded native Indian
pin cushions from the turn of the last century, Indian baskets from both eastern
