To be held at the Lions Club hall on Centre St. in the town of Napanee Ont. (20 miles west of Kingston Ont.)
We have been asked by Alex and Isabel Hume of Maynard Ont. to sell their extensive collection of American and Canadian patterned glass, a collection of clear and coloured coal oil lamps and lamp parts, art glass, post cards and paper memorabilia, textiles, etc. The Humes operated Humeshaugh Antiques in Prescott Ont. for 32 years, doing most of the major shows in Ontario and Quebec before their retirement in 2004.

A partial list of the Canadian patterns included, from Nova Scotia, Acadian, Buttons and Bows, Crown, Diamond, Gothic, Paneled Jewels, Queen Victoria Commemorative, Raspberry, Raspberry and Shield, Ribbed band, Starflower and Ribbon and Star in addition to Rayed Heart, Nugget, Maple Leaf, Cosmos, Canadian, Paneled Thistle, Paneled Forget-me-not, Beaded Grape, Chandelier, Woodrow, etc.,
American patterns take up two thirds of the collection and samples of patterns represented are Actress, Aegis, Athenian, Beaded Oval and fan #1 and 2, Bleeding Heart, early and late Buckle, Buckle and Star, Chain and Star, Cross, Currant, Daisy and Button, Deer and Dog, Diagonal Band and Fan, Esther, Feather Band, Frosted Ribbon, Good Luck, Gooseberry, Hops Band, Jacob’s Ladder, Lattice, Lily of the Valley, Lion, Loop and Star, Minerva, Persian Spear, Palmette, Sawtooth, Shell and Tassel, Strawberry, Thousand Eye, Squirrel, Cupid and Venice, Parrot and Fan, etc.
Forms represented are goblets and wines, creamers, sugars, butter dishes, spooners, celery vases, tumblers, cruet stands, vinegar cruets, etc.
In addition to the patterned glass, we will offer a selection of art glass to include cranberry, satin glass, End of Day, Vasamurina, etc., a large quantity of post cards from Canada, the US and Europe, other paper memorabilia to include pulp magazines, valentines, etc., a set of china dinner ware in the Toga pattern (green), toilet set, coloured glass scent bottles, coloured glass patch boxes, a collection of patterned glass salt and peppers in blue and white milk glass etc.
Lighting is well represented in this collection with over 75 clear coal oil lamps in various patterns along with a quantity of lamp parts including fluted chimneys (some rare examples), crimped chimneys, burners and spiders, Ives shades including one in the Canadian pattern and a selection of coloured lamps to include blue snowflake, Bulls eyes in various sizes of green, Bulls eye pedestal lamps with white, blue and green bases, coloured finger lamps including Nut Meg and Guardian Angel, miniature lamps, etc.
Misc. China will be represented with Royal Bayreuth, Royal Doulton including many examples of the one-inch Toby jugs, limoges, Nippon etc., a large brass marine telescope encased in decorative sail cloth, a collection ofr Canadian fruit jars, a collection of bottles including a small number of stoneware ginger beer bottles, a stenciled arrow back rocker, oak filing drawers, die cut signs, a large quantity of quilts and quilt tops, hand worked linens, blanket chest, etc., etc.
